Garden Delight Sandwiches

Turtle Sandwich

Gather

bread
meats and cheeses
cucumber slices
black olives

Go

1. Use a biscuit cutter to cut circles from slices of bread, meat and cheese.
2. Make sandwiches using the round pieces.
3. Cover the top piece of bread with cucumber slices to make a turtle shell.
4. Place black olives around the sandwich to make the turtle's head, feet and tail.

Flower Sandwich

Gather

bread
meats and cheeses
cream cheese
dried apricot
almonds or other round nuts
leafy celery stalk

Go

1. Use a flower-shaped cookie cutter (or round biscuit cutter) to cut shapes from slices of bread, meat and cheese.
2. Make sandwiches using the cut-out pieces.
3. Dab cream cheese onto apricot and place in the center of the "blossom."
4. Attach nuts to the "petals" using cream cheese.
5. Carefully trim a celery stalk for the flower stem.

Sunshine Sandwich

Gather

bread
sandwich meat
cheddar cheese
carrot sticks

Go

1. Use a biscuit cutter to cut circles from slices of bread, meat and cheese.
2. Make an open-faced sandwich with cheese on top.
3. For sun rays, arrange carrot sticks around the sandwich.

Tree Sandwich

Gather

bread
meats and cheeses
cream cheese
pomegranate seeds or dried cranberries
celery

Go

1. Cuts bread, meats and cheeses into equal-sized triangles.
2. Make sandwiches using the cut-out pieces.
3. Attach pomegranate seeds or dried cranberries using cream cheese. This is the fruit on your tree.
4. Use a celery stick to make the tree trunk.

To make a garden scene . . .

Add leafy greens from a salad mix for grass. Chopped celery pieces make pretty birds. You can use cherry tomatoes, radish slices or banana slices for colorful blossoms.

To put yourself in the scene, use a cucumber slice for a head, a carrot stick for a body and celery sticks for arms and legs.
