Creamy Caramel Sauce

2 tablespoons butter
½ cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup milk
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla


1. Put butter in medium, microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for a few seconds until butter melts.
2. Mix in sugar, milk and egg yolks with a wire whisk.
3. Cook in microwave (on medium power) for 1 minute. Stir.
4. Continue heating 30 seconds at a time until sauce thickens.
5. Add vanilla.
6. Serve warm or cold. Makes about 1 cup. Refrigerate leftovers.
